The Villa Shanti at Dencarik near Lovina is the best place we have stayed in five trips to Bali. The villa and grounds are beautiful and were spacious enough so that the five of us who were staying could each find solitude if we wanted it in a variety of shady and relaxing places. The villa is set back from the sea and secure from the few passing hawkers and the outlook in every direction is superb. We did day trips to Menjangam Island, and to the Bali Tower at the Menjangam resort,as well as to Lovina and up to the Damai Villas for dinner. While all those places were lovely it was always good to get back to the peace and serenity of the Villa Shanti. Kertut, Ayu, Nyomang and the rest of the staff were faultless in their care. The food was delicious. Lying in the massage hut listening to the sound of the sea while we had a massage from Made and her colleague left us completely blissed out on a daily basis – each and every one of us floated back along the path to the villa with goofy looks on our faces. We enjoyed it all and look forward to returning one day. One word of warning – don’t step on the black tiles with wet feet! Most of the tiles around the pool are white but there are a few black ones and they are very slippery when wet so please take care.
